The Future of Fashion

The fashion world is a brutal place and for the longest time there has been only one standard of beauty and body shape that were deemed acceptable. You had to be tall, skinny and most times white but this is 2016, and while the fashion world still has a long way to go in terms of diversity and inclusivity,certain designers have gone a long way towards making the runway as diverse as can be.

The picture above is of 28 year old model Rebekah Marine, from Woodbury New Jersey on the runway at the New York fashion week. Alongside her is Leslie Irby in a wheelchair. This is a far cry from what the fashion industry would have characterized as beautiful.

Plus Size models

Finally women of all shapes and sizes can look on the runway and see themselves being represented.


Black Models Matter



The black models matter was started by fashion designer Zac Posen who made a statement at the New York Fashion week. Most of the models cast in his show were black and he posted the above picture on his Instagram with the caption:
